Which Item Types are migrated

Depending on the type of selected source platform, different item types can be migrated.

Mailboxes

Items which are being migrated when Mailbox migration is done:

  • Email items
  • Inbox Rules (server side rules)
  • Categories for all item types
  • Contact items
  • Contact Groups
  • Calendar items
  • Journals
  • Journal Rules
  • Note items
  • Task items

Items which are not migrated during mailbox migration and need to be manually created:

  • User Mailboxes
  • Deleted items
  • Linked mailboxes
  • Distribution Groups
  • Distribution group membership
  • Permissions on Mailbox items (e.g. inbox folders, calendars, contacts...)
  • Shared Mailboxes
  • Room Mailboxes
  • Equipment Mailboxes
  • Client side Outlook rules - rules which work only when emails are checked in Outlook (e.g. any rule which has "mark as read" part of it...)
  • Custom Outlook settings (e.g. Outlook font, Signatures...)

Public Folders

Items which are being migrated when Public Folder migration is done:

  • Public Folders (from first to last level)
  • Email (post) items
  • Calendar items
  • Contact items
  • InfoPath Form items
  • Journal items
  • Note items
  • Task items
  • Permissions for all item types (if they are created on the destination)
  • Categories for all item types

Items which are not migrated during Public folder migration and need to be manually created:
  • Permissions which are set on users or groups which are not created on the destination in a proper format.
